PWHL Seattle Signs Forward Lexie Adzija to Two-Year Deal

Adzija brings elite skill, leadership, and social influence to the league’s newest expansion team

Seattle’s newly announced Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) team made a major move Tuesday by signing forward Lexie Adzija to a two-year deal. The 24-year-old arrives from Boston’s PWHL team, the Fleet, following a trade from Ottawa. With 53 PWHL games under her belt and a rising profile off the ice, Adzija represents the future of women’s hockey—skilled, dynamic, and marketable.

“I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be joining PWHL Seattle and to be part of building something special in a city that was so eager to have me,” Adzija said in a statement.

Adzija tallied 17 points (eight goals, nine assists) in regular-season play and brings strong leadership experience from her time at Quinnipiac University, where she was assistant captain in 2021 and team captain in 2022. Her relentless work ethic, competitive drive, and high hockey IQ make her a key addition as Seattle looks to establish its identity in the expanding PWHL landscape.

Beyond the Ice: The Lexie Adzija Brand

Beyond her stats, Lexie Adzija is a dynamic force both on and off the ice. She played collegiate hockey at Quinnipiac University, serving as assistant captain in 2021 and captain in 2022, where she led with heart, grit, and unmatched work ethic.

Her signing is not just a strategic move for Seattle’s PWHL expansion team—it’s a major opportunity for the league to embrace a star who embodies the modern athlete: competitive, charismatic, and content-driven.

A Trailblazer in Women’s Sports and Media

With over 153,000 followers across social media (@lexie.adzija), Lexie has built a loyal community that goes beyond hockey fans—blending elite athleticism with authenticity and lifestyle content that resonates across generations. She has become one of the most recognizable faces in women’s hockey. Her social media presence adds massive value for brands and media campaigns, making her one of the most influential athletes in the PWHL today.

Adzija’s journey began in Canada, where she excelled in multiple sports before committing to hockey full-time. She earned a bronze medal with Canada’s U18 national team, joined the U22 team, and earned a full scholarship to Quinnipiac. Since then, she’s continued to rise—playing professionally while also becoming an advocate for body positivity and athletic representation.

As a female hockey player frequently labeled “too muscular,” Adzija has used her platform to challenge stereotypes and inspire confidence in young girls. In 2022, she began modeling for boutique brands, showing that strength and femininity are not mutually exclusive. Whether she’s skating at top speed or posing for a campaign, Lexie embraces it all—on her own terms. Her multidimensional personality and authentic presence make her a dream for brands looking to align with inspirational athletes who lead with heart.

Giving Back, Staying Grounded

Off the ice, Lexie’s passions run deep. An avid snowboarder, skier, and runner, she thrives on movement and competition. Lexie’s path hasn’t been without adversity. From serious injuries to a cancer diagnosis at a young age, she’s faced down challenges that have shaped her into the resilient, grateful, and driven person she is today.

Lexie Adzija isn’t just a signing—she’s a cornerstone for Seattle’s future. For Seattle, she brings proven leadership, elite playmaking, and magnetic energy that can help galvanize a new fan base. For brands, she represents a rare combination: professional athlete, digital creator, and influential voice for a new generation of sports fans.

Her signing is not only a win for Seattle—it’s a win for the sport, for visibility in women’s hockey, and for the growing connection between sports, media, and culture. For brand partnerships, media inquiries, or speaking engagements with Lexie Adzija, please contact Christina at christina@celebexperts.com
