Lacie Saltzmann is a rising sophomore gymnast at the University of Minnesota pursuing dual degrees in biomedical engineering and psychology. A member of the Golden Gophers’ historic 2025–26 team, Saltzmann helped Minnesota become just the seventh team to advance to the NCAA Championships and the first in program history to reach the Final Four.
As a freshman, she competed regularly on bars and floor, earning First Team NCAA All-American honors on floor after posting a career-best 9.9625 at the NCAA Championships. She also recorded a 9.925 on floor at Senior Night and was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after securing a bars title and career-high scores on both events.
Prior to Minnesota, Saltzmann competed as an elite gymnast from 2022–24, highlighted by a third-place finish on beam and an eighth-place all-around finish at the 2023 U.S. Championships. She represented Team USA at the 2024 Maccabi Pan American Games, helping the junior women’s team win gold while capturing individual titles in the all-around, bars, and floor. As a Level 10 gymnast, she also competed at the Nastia Liukin Cup and earned bronze medals on bars and beam at Nationals.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Saltzmann moved to Texas in middle school to pursue elite gymnastics. She chose the University of Minnesota for its values-driven culture, strong academic reputation, and welcoming Jewish community.
Beyond athletics, Saltzmann excels in the classroom as an AP Scholar with Distinction, National Scholar, and Benson Scholar. She earned a 4.0 GPA in high school and was named to the College of Science and Engineering Dean’s List during her first semester at Minnesota. She also serves as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative, participates in team leadership initiatives, mentors younger athletes through Athlete-to-Athlete, and volunteers with organizations including Feed My Starving Children and Special Olympics.
Outside the gym, Saltzmann enjoys baking, crafting, cooking, and traveling. She is known among teammates for creating homemade cupcakes, macarons, and decorated cookies for recruits and special occasions. Having traveled to more than 35 countries, she values opportunities to connect with new cultures while spending time with family and friends.
